Gyotaku started as a way for Japanese fishermen to document their catch, but for me, it’s about honoring the animal and preserving its story. Whether it’s an alligator, crawfish, swordfish, or squid, every print captures the unique details and textures that make each creature one of a kind. Printing is proof it lived. And for me, that’s what makes this work so meaningful!
